St. Luke’s vestry members want to hear from you! Whether you have a new idea, general feedback, or think something can be done better, please reach out to a member of the vestry.

We are continuing to change and be involved beyond our walls. Whether our doors are open or closed, what I have seen most can be summed up in one word: support.”

About the Vestry

In the Episcopal Church, the vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. Vestry members are elected at the annual parish meeting. The presiding officer of the vestry is the rector. The senior warden leads the parish between rectors and is a support person for the rector. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances.

At St. Luke’s Ypsi, all adult communicants in good standing are eligible for nomination to serve on the Vestry.
